Anyone receiving a call from a man claiming to be a process server named David Brown or from a phone number 716-831-2811 claiming to have a summons should not give any information out - This is a SCAM to get money from you for a fake creditor collection
THERE IS A LOCAL SCAM SHOWING UP ON CALLER ID FROM THE SHERIFFS OFFICE OR LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENTS ASKING FOR MONEY TO SUPPORT THEM.
THIS IS A SCAM AND YOU SHOULD CHECK WITH THE DEPARTMENT ITSELF AND ASK IF THEY ARE DOING A FUND DRIVE BEFORE GIVING ANY MONEY. LOOK UP THE NUMBER YOURSELF AND NOT THE NUMBER THEY PROVIDE. IF IN DOUBT - ASSUME IT'S A SCAM!
THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF POLICE IMPERSONATORS IN SEVERAL AREAS OF THE STATE. IF YOU ARE EVER IN DOUBT IF ITS A REAL OFFICER CALL 911 OR LOCAL PD AND ASK IF THEY HAVE AN OFFICER PULLING YOU OVER BEFORE STOPPING, OR BEFORE OPENING YOUR DOOR AT HOME. IF IT'S REAL THEY WILL BE ABLE TO VERIFY TO YOU THAT IT'S A LEGIT TRAFFIC STOP OR POLICE OFFICER AT YOUR DOOR
THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF CALLS FROM SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM THE COURTHOUSE AND THAT YOU MISSED JURY DUTY AND NEED TO PAY A FINE. THIS IS A SCAM!

THERE HAVE BEEN A NUMBER OF CALLS TO RESIDENCE IN THE AREA STATING THEY OR A FAMILY MEMBER HAVE FINES THAT NEED PAID OR WARRANT WILL BE ISSUED. THEY ARE ASKING FOR FINES TO BE PAID OVER THE PHONE OR INTERNET AND SOMETIMES REQUEST A PREPAID MONEY CARD.
THIS IS A SCAM! FINES ARE NEVER PAID WITH PREPAID CARDS. CONTACT POLICE OR COURT TO VERIFY DIRECTLY. LOOK UP THE NUMBER AND DONT USE THE NUMBER THEY PROVIDE
IF SOMEONE CALLS AND SAYS YOUR LOVED ONE HAD AN ACCIDENT BUT IS NOT ABLE TO TALK RIGHT NOW, AND THAT THEY NEED TO PAY FOR DAMAGES OR A TOW TRUCK ETC., AND NEED YOU TO SEND MONEY, GET A PREPAID CARD, OR MAKE ANY KIND OF PAYMET, IT IS A KNOWN SCAM! DON'T SEND ANYTHING. VERIFY WITH YOUR LOVED ONE OR THE POLICE FOR THAT AREA
THERE IS A SCAM GOING AROUND WHERE YOU RECIEVE A MESSAGE STATING THAT YOUR PACKAGE HAS BEEN DELAYED IN DELIVERY DUE TO THE STREET NUMBER ETC. MISSING FROM ADDRESS AND THAT YOU NEED TO CLICK THE LINK TO VERIFY DELIVERY LOCATION. THIS IS A SCAM! DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS OR PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION. THE LINKS MAY BE A VIRUS AND YOUR INFORMATION MAY BE AT RISK. IF YOU ARE EXPECTING ANY PACKAGES CHECK WITH THE STORE/SELLER OR THE SHIPPING COMPANY DIRECT.
THERE IS A SCAM GOING AROUND THIS AREA WHERE SOMEONE IS TEXTING OR CALLIGN CLAIMING TO BE A PASTOR OR REPRESENTATIVE OF A LOCAL CHURCH AND SEEKING DONTAIONS. THIS IS A SCACM! DO NOT GIVE ANY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OUT TO ANYONE YOU DON'T KNOW! CALL PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE AND REPRORT THIS IF YOYU RECEIVE ANY OF THESE MESSAGED OR CALLS.
If you receive a phone call from the phone number 724-218-3167 it is a SCAM trying to get your information. Health Insurance companies do not call you to advertise services. When in doubt assume it's a SCAM until you verify it with a legit number or agency.
If asked to pay by using a gift card, it is almost always a SCAM! Do not fall for this! Call and report this to the police.
Watch out for those posting fake items for sale and asking you to send money to have them shipped. Especially vehicles and high-priced items. This is usually a SCAM! Also, if you do agree to buy and item and meet in person to get it, meet the person in a public place in view of others for safety reasons. And if you sell an item, be aware of who you give your address to especially if you have children at home. Instead, you should ask the person buying your item t to meet you in a public place to get it.
Some scammers are now calling and asking you if you can hear them trying to record your vice saying "yes" so they can add that recording to whatever they are trying to scam and say that you agreed on a recorded line. Do not fall for this! Do not say yes to any questions. Just say "I hear you" or better yet hang up all together since it is most likely a scam anyways.
Phone calls around the area where someone tells you that you missed court and there could be a warrant for your arrest and to turn yourself into the sheriff's department or pay a fine over the phone. This is a known scam!!
If you get a phone call or email stating that you have a package to be delivered but the postage amount was short and that you need to pay, be aware that this is a SCAM! This is not a real thing that would happen.
